Chien-Ming “Daniel” Chen is a master student at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Tainan, Taiwan. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree (2017) in Mechanical Engineering from NCKU. He worked as a Research Assistant in the e-Manufacturing Research Center at NCKU from July 2017 to January 2018. He analyzed on-site data and built an automatic Virtual Metrology model for estimating the thickness of PET bottles in a Blow Molding machine. He has gotten fall 2019 admission to Master of Computer Science in University of Southern California.

Previously, he did an undergraduate project in the Nordling Lab on implementation of a [remote real-time monitoring] and [abnormal condition detection] system with automatic alert on a Back part moulding machine used in shoe manufacturing. The aim of the project was to explore and demonstrate Industry 4.0 technology. It involved Data Science and Internet of Things technology.

He is the founder of the Music Game Club in NCKU. He was the vice president and the education officer of the Campus Computer and Network Society in NCKU.
